Create a case study on the Tsunami in 2004. What do we know about it? How did it happen? What was the impact? Why did it happen?
Research resource management around the UK and globally. What do we know about resource management? Why is resource management in some countries/location an ongoing issue? Create a fact sheet.
Carry out research on Rio de Janeiro and the squatter settlements. What do we know about them? How have they developed over the years? Create a fact file of all relevant information.

Year 10 students are strongly encouraged to work on the ‘GCSE: Medicine’ tasks listed below.
Task 1 Go through Medicine unit using the handout booklet.
Task 2 Complete exam questions on final page of the booklet.
Task 3 Memorise and practice exam structure.
Task 4 Write a 1000-2000 word essay, going through the key dates, developments and people of the 19th century.
Task 5 Create flash cards on 10 medical developments and its impact.
Task 6 Create flash cards on 7 doctors/medical scientist and what they discovered. For example: Alexander Fleming and Penicillin. How did this improve medicine?
Task 7 Create a timeline on medicine in Medieval Britain.
Task 8 Create a timeline on medicine in the renaissance time period.
Task 9 Write a 1000 word essay on the key differences between medicine in Medieval Britain vs 19th century medicine.
Task 10 Explain the significance of anaesthetics in the development of medicine.

Write a scene or 2 for your devised performance. This can then be perform/rehearsed and tweaked if need be. Speak to members of your group about who should plan what.

Task 1: Create revision cards of performance keywords.
Task 2: Create game to test your knowledge and understanding of these keywords. Ask a family member/friend to play the game with you.
Rhythm & Timing- playing/singing each note/beat for the correct length of time
Pitch-playing/singing the correct high/low notes
Tuning- being able to hear when you’re playing/singing wrong notes and change to correct it
Phrasing-playing your part without putting spaces in the wrong place
Learning Repertoire- knowing how to play/sing your song from beginning to end
Range- being able to use a large range of notes with your voice/on an instrument
Musical Interaction-keeping in time with the band and following the changes in the music
Following an Accompaniment- listening to the band and adjusting your tempo, your dynamics and your sound to match theirs

We are all living through a significant moment in history right now. When you are adults with children or grandchildren no doubt you will be asked about what it was like during these times. Just like our elderly friends and family are with rationing and the war.
This task is to create record for you and your families but also for you to focus on the positives that you see. There are always positives!
If you have a printer at home you can print this document out and fill it in daily or you can simply copy the sections into any notebook or papers that you might have.
