The Academy takes the welfare and safety of students very seriously, working hard to reduce all the kinds of harm that children can suffer, including abuse, bullying, discrimination and avoidable injuries. We strive to make sure that every student in the Academy feels secure, well cared for, and able to reach their full potential.

The Academy understands and is committed to the vital contribution that all governors, staff, parents and students can make to safeguarding children. Our curriculum is designed to create awareness in students of safeguarding issues and how to deal with them. All our staff are regularly and thoroughly trained in identifying, dealing with and reporting any safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding and CP policy – September 2023

Working together

We will continue to ensure that all our staff, other professionals, parents or carers and students work together to know the rules about keeping children safe. They will understand the importance of following procedures and listening to each other, especially when there are concerns about safety.

Our procedures comply with the letter and the spirit of guidance, regulation and best practice. Our safeguarding policy, which contains further details, can be found in Academy Policies section on the website (under ‘About us’).

You can access the Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre directly by visiting the CEOP website.Email contacts are available below but if you have any concerns at all about the safety or welfare of a child, please make immediate contact by telephone on 01895 430066 and be sure to make it clear that there may be a safeguarding issue. If you believe that a child is in imminent danger, please contact the police by dialing 999.

Park Academy West London participates in the Operation Encompass programme. This is a joint operation – involving the Metropolitan Police, education services and local authorities which allows schools to provide early intervention and support for children who are living with domestic abuse.

Do you have concerns about a student?

My Voice is an online reporting system for parents and students to use should they wish to report a safeguarding concern.  By providing a secure and anonymous  access for reporting safeguarding concerns, it will assist in early intervention, further develop an open culture of safeguarding in the Academy and will help students receive the support they need.  My Voice can be accessed via this link:

Student welfare

The Academy has a range of policies and procedures in place that ensure the welfare of all of our students.

Several of these policies set out expectations about behaviour. This includes good learning behaviour around the Academy and in lessons as well as rules about how to communicate and behave appropriately towards other students and staff. This ensures everyone feels safe and can learn.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the welfare of your son or daughter, we suggest that you contact your child’s form tutor in the first instance. If you would like to talk to another member of the staff, please contact safe@park-aspirations.com
