As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2023, a group of Year 10 and 11 students visited the Toni & Guy Learning Academy in London. Whilst at the Academy, our students were given information about the apprenticeship pathway that Toni & Guy offer, how to make applications and what career opportunities would be available to them. The group were introduced to members of the Global Artistic Team and then observed hair demonstrations by International Artistic Director, Efi Davies, and Academy Educator Sanja Mandusic. The students observed two very different styles being developed and realised how simple some of the techniques are. The group then participated in a workshop under the direction of Sanja where they practiced and refined their hair styling techniques including a range of braiding techniques. The opportunity was inspiring for the students and provided an insight into opportunities that are available to them.
