For their first unit of work in Drama, Year 7 students explored different styles and movements of Theatre throughout history, answering the question: ‘What is theatre, where does it come from, and why is it still so important today?’. For their assessment, they developed a piece of physical theatre from the theatre company ‘Frantic Assembly’. The ‘Chair Duets’ is a rehearsal technique where performers create movement first, and then build characters and relationships on top of the movement.
Lily and Charlie created, rehearsed and performed this outstanding example of a Chair Duet in only 1.5 lessons. Ms Povey was very impressed with the variety of movement and focus from the girls, and we could all start to see a story being told and relationships being created. Well done girls!
