What is a High Attaining Pupil (HAP)?

HAP stands for High Attaining Pupils based on their key stage 2 data. As an Academy, we use students’ KS2 English (reading) and Maths test scores on completion of their primary school phase.

However, the Academy will reevaluate our student body to ensure all students have an opportunity to be recognised as a high achieving pupil through outstanding performance and achievement.

Class registers identify high ability students and teachers use that information to ensure that lessons and homeworks stretch them sufficiently. All departments use a range of strategies for meeting the needs of high ability students and schemes of work show what provision is made for them.

What is on offer for HAP Pupils?

  • Brilliant Club
  • University visits
  • Focused extracurricular provision
  • Subject specific master classes
  • Bespoke career opportunities
  • Regular HAPs reviews

Park Academy is committed to ensuring that our HAPs students receive provision that enables them to reach their full potential.
